About Us Hicks Animal Clinic is a locally owned, patient-centered small animal veterinary hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets and outstanding service to their people. We offer a wide range of services including ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental cleanings and extractions, soft tissue surgery, annual wellness care, and more. As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of procedures while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Position Responsibilities You'll play an essential role in patient care and daily clinic flow, including: Assisting veterinarians during appointments and procedures Safely and confidently restraining pets to support patient and team safety Obtaining accurate vitals and collecting thorough medical histories Collecting and preparing lab samples (fecal, urine, blood, cytologies) Supporting efficient clinic workflows and daily operations Communicating clearly and professionally with clients and teammates Assist veterinarians during scheduled appointments and procedures Safely and confidently restrain animals to ensure safety for patients and staff Accurately obtain patient vitals and complete medical histories Collect and prepare lab samples (fecal, urine, blood, cytologies) Support clinic workflows and daily operations Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Prior veterinary experience preferred Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn Compassionate, reliable, and able to work well in a team environment Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on role that includes being on your feet most of the day, patient handling, and occasional lifting.
