Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and pet owners by assisting with medical procedures, animal handling, and client communication. Your expertise will help ensure our furry patients receive compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills while making a positive difference in animals' lives every day. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and monitoring animal vital signs. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures. Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing tests, and recording results to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document treatments accurately. Conduct radiographic imaging (X-ray) procedures while adhering to safety protocols and veterinary terminology standards. Manage animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care tasks under supervision to support veterinary critical care efforts. Skills Proven experience with the ability to handle multiple animals confidently in a busy setting. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Skilled in animal restraint techniques for various species including dogs and horses (equine experience preferred). Laboratory experience with sample collection and processing; familiarity with X-ray procedures is a plus. Excellent dog handling skills combined with pet grooming abilities to enhance overall pet wellness. Ability to perform animal catheterization and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners about animal health needs.
