Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Kennel Assistant, where your enthusiasm for animal care and dedication to animal well-being will shine! In this vital role, you will support daily kennel operations, ensure the comfort and safety of our animal patients, and assist veterinary staff with essential tasks. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal husbandry, veterinary procedures, and client service within a fast-paced, compassionate setting. Duties Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to promote a healthy environment for animals Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and medication administration to ensure safety for both animals and staff Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with basic animal handling, feeding, and monitoring vital signs Provide pet care including feeding, watering, grooming, and exercising animals to keep them comfortable and stress-free Assist front desk staff with client check-ins, appointment scheduling, and answering general inquiries about pet care services Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly to veterinary staff Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Knowledge of animal handling techniques, restraint methods, and basic veterinary terminology Experience with medication administration, laboratory procedures, or veterinary clinic operations is a plus Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals safely and standing for extended periods Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact positively with clients Familiarity with aseptic techniques, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures enhances your candidacy Prior experience in veterinary clinics or as a veterinary assistant is highly desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates Join us in providing exceptional care for animals while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment!
