Oakes Animal Hospital is a 5 doctor family owned general practice offering preventative/wellness care, sick visits, surgery, dentistry, dietary consults, behavior consults, and radiology in house. We are seeking motivated and passionate individuals to join our team in the role of veterinary assistant/veterinary technician. Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatments Restrain cats and dogs in a safe and compassionate manner for exams and treatments Monitor and husbandry for hospitalized pets Prepare prescriptions Obtain and complete routine In house laboratory work (intestinal parasites screenings, urinalysis, heartworm test, felv/fiv test, parvo test, ear cytologies, etc) Preparing samples for send out laboratory testing Administer injections (intravenous, intramuscular, and subcutaneous) and medications are directed by the veterinarian Educating clients on core and non core vaccines available, and other preventative care as recommended by our veterinarians tailored to individual patient lifestyles and clients budgetary needs Radiographic positioning and capturing images Maintain detailed and accurate medical files and client communications Venipuncture and catheter placement Hospital Cleaning Facilitating appointments

00 / hour for experienced veterinary assistant (higher starting pay for registered veterinary technician).
