Duties administering medications (oral and injectable) performing various veterinary medical treatments performing dental and body x-ray imaging performing laboratory diagnostics (including phlebotomy) assisting with anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures performing routine cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment Pay starts at $14.00/hr, and will increase after demonstrable learning of skills necessary for the position (or upon skillful demonstration of relevant experience). Typical weekdays are about 12 hours including a minimum one-hour unpaid lunch. Assistants work two to four days per week (depending on availability), with the addition of rotating Sundays and holidays (which are just AM/PM treatments, and on-call emergencies). Saturdays are half-days where the clinic closes at 12PM rather than 6PM.
