Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection. Provide compassionate animal handling and care, ensuring animals are comfortable and stress-free during examinations and treatments. Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas to uphold infection control standards. Support kennel management by feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals' health status; ensure proper animal husbandry practices are followed. Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures, including animal catheterization and positioning. Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing patient records efficiently. Conduct laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures to support accurate veterinary assessments. Handle animal restraint during examinations or treatments with patience and confidence, including dog handling and equine experience when applicable. Experience Previous veterinary clinic experience or veterinary assistant experience is highly preferred. Strong animal husbandry skills with knowledge of pet care, animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior. Experience working with a variety of species, including dogs, cats, and small mammals. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and medication protocols. Proven ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques; experience with animal catheterization is a plus. Excellent communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
