Job Description

Aliante Animal Hopsital is a growing, 6 doctor practice located in northwest Las Vegas. Kennel assistant duties include but not limited to cleanliness of hospital, taking care of patients and boarding animals, cleaning kennels, feeding animals who are boarding, restraining, and assisting technicians and Dr. with appointments. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, be a team player with an excellent work ethic, and have the ability to multi task. Job Title:
Kennel Technician Reports to : Lead Animal Caretaker, Hospital Administrator /
Office Manager Overall Responsibility:
The Animal Caretaker is responsible for the loving care and handling of all boarding pets. In addition, Animal Caretakers will maintain a clean and healthy environment for all boarding pets and ensure the smooth running of the hospital by performing duties as directed by their supervisors. Due to the nature of the hospital, the Animal Caretaker may be asked to work any day of the week, month, or year.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Provide outstanding customer service Be on time and stay late when needed Feed, water, and walk all boarding pets Always be willing to help other team member and other departments Facilitate, encourage and support communication between staff and departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital Be able to lift pets up to 50lbs 10 times every day Be able to bend, lift, kneel and for extended periods of time Work with fecal matter, urine, blood, and cleaning chemicals Clean cages and runs in boarding area as needed Bathe pets Communicate with the clients on status of boarding patients Wash, dry and put away dishes Sweep and mop all areas of the hospital Stock items in kennel Check and clean bathrooms throughout the day Empty the garbage and recycle throughout the day Launder all towels and bedding from kennel and treatment Assist with patient handling and care in the treatment area Perform daily tasks duties as scheduled Report medical issues of boarding patients to doctor To ensure the safety of clients, pets and their colleagues Obey all clinic policies and procedures as well as under their responsibilities under OSHA and other regulatory agencies This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the Animal Caretaker.
