We are a growing, three doctor small animal practice in Sparks, NV seeking an outgoing, detail oriented individual to join our dynamic veterinary team in our Client Care /Assistant Crossover role! This energetic role combines front-office client interactions with hands-on animal care, creating a vibrant environment where compassionate pet care meets efficient administrative support. You'll be the friendly face greeting clients, managing appointments, and assisting with animal handling tasks that ensure our patients receive top-quality care. Supplemental Insurance Scrub Allowance Yearly Paid Time Off Product and Service Discounts Responsibilities Include:

Answer multiple phone lines Greet clients Check clients in/out Schedule appointments Create estimates General cleaning of department Print forms & brochures Take prescription requests and messages Triage emergencies Follow-up calls from previous days appointments Answer questions and problem solve for clients Discuss various specials, recommendations & services with clients End of day closing Payment handling Communicate with all departments and personnel Make and utilize puppy/kitten and new client packs Scan forms into medical record Notate all client communication Respond to emails and text messages Client education Take radiographs and monitor anesthesia Clean cages and weigh animals Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations Soothe upset or frightened animals Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (e.g. by mixing it with food) Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet Help in cases of emergencies Taking patient history and getting basic vitals Keep accurate records and logs Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare

Multi-tasking Dependability Work in fast paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Patient and caring personality Comfortable being around animals (cats and dogs) Ability to remain calm and collected when handling emergencies Positive, outgoing personality Ability to follow instructions Detail oriented, hardworking, self-starter Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs, sitting and standing for long periods, etc.) Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals (preferred) High school diploma; a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus!
