Summary We are seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team at Howard Beach Animal Clinic. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional medical services. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Assist veterinary staff with handling animals during examinations and treatments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area to ensure a safe environment for all animals. Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team. Support pet owners with information about pet care and clinic services. Requirements Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology is essential. Experience in dog handling and general animal care is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations is a plus. Ability to administer medications under supervision is beneficial but not required. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
