Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LVT and Veterinary Tech/Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a support to our Veterinarian in all aspects of veterinary care, from well visits, to emergencies, surgeries and chemo treatments . This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We are an outpatient clinic only with no overnights and no boarding. We are small and independently owned. LVT or currently in school would be ideal, but also prior work experience in the field will be strongly considered. Duties including but not limited to Assist veterinarian during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Handle all aspects of surgery including, giving pre-meds, intubation, anesthetic meds, proper use and knowledge of all instruments and clean up. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Prepare and maintain laboratory samples for testing as directed by veterinarian. Document patient information accurately in medical records and assist with client communications. Preparing chemo treatments and assisting with the proper protocol to ensure the safety of both the patients and staff Qualifications Strong background in animal care, including familiarity with animal anatomy. Proficiency in dog and cat handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with various breeds. Previous experience in a veterinary setting is strongly recommended, willingness to learn Ability to perform laboratory tasks related to animal health assessments. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and team members. A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
