Job Description

Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and pet owners to ensure the health and well-being of a diverse range of animals. You will be actively involved in daily clinic operations, animal handling, and supporting medical procedures, all while fostering a compassionate environment for our furry, feathered, and scaled patients. This paid position is perfect for passionate animal lovers eager to grow their veterinary experience and make a meaningful difference in animal health. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection. Provide compassionate pet care by feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animals' health status. Handle a variety of animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Support laboratory work such as sample processing, testing, and maintaining accurate records. Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety. Manage front desk duties including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering client inquiries professionally. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring medication storage, and ensuring proper labelling. Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal care for all animals. Veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience that demonstrates familiarity with clinical procedures and terminology. Strong animal handling skills with expertise in dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and anatomy knowledge. Experience in veterinary critical care environments with understanding of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures. Ability to communicate effectively at the front desk while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently. Knowledge of pet care practices including medication administration, pet nutrition, and physiology. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and laboratory equipment enhances your ability to support clinical workflows.
