Veterinary Technician Student Opportunity Family-Owned Small Animal Practice | Norwich, NY Grandview Estates Veterinary, PC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative. This is a unique opportunity for someone serious about a long-term career in veterinary medicine. Pre-employment drug screening, background check, and verification of enrollment in an accredited Veterinary Technician program are required. Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Veterinary Technician program and actively pursuing licensure Applicants not currently enrolled in an accredited Veterinary Technician program and actively pursuing licensure will not be considered Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong mathematical skills and cashiering experience Ability to accurately process payments and maintain attention to detail Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Dependable, professional, compassionate, and trustworthy Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to long-term employment and professional growth within veterinary medicine What Makes Our Practice Different Family-owned, non-corporate environment No corporate quotas or production pressure Strong mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities Supportive doctor and team atmosphere Opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine Strong focus on patient care and client education Positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace Lower-stress rural practice environment Opportunity for continued growth and advancement Currently no weekends Currently no after-hours emergency calls Client Service Representative Responsibilities Answering multi-line phone systems professionally and efficiently Scheduling appointments appropriately based on patient needs and urgency Taking and relaying messages accurately Greeting clients and patients Checking patients in and out Obtaining patient weights and escorting clients to exam rooms Processing payments and balancing transactions Preparing prescription pick-ups and assisting with medication check-out Assisting clients with CareCredit, Cherry, and All Pet Card applications Assisting with hospitalization paperwork and treatment authorizations Compassionately assisting clients during difficult conversations, including euthanasia discussions Scanning, attaching, filing, and maintaining medical records Reminder calls and client follow-up communications Assisting with client education and communication Maintaining a welcoming, professional reception area Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments Animal restraint and patient handling Surgical assistance and patient preparation Dental assistance Preparing laboratory samples and assisting with diagnostics Assisting with radiography and ultrasound procedures Assisting with hospitalized patient care and monitoring Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining exam rooms and treatment areas Assisting with patient admissions and discharges Maintaining accurate medical records Supporting overall clinic workflow and teamwork Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and skill level Health insurance assistance Dental insurance assistance Paid vacation/PTO Paid New York State sick leave Uniform allowance Employee pet discounts Aflac supplemental insurance Continuing education support
