Job Description
Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and pet owners to ensure the health and well-being of a range of animals. You will be responsible for supporting clinical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and delivering compassionate pet care. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations, diagnostics, and treatments to ensure the safety of both animals and staff. Administer medications, injections, and treatments under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections. Support tasks such as feeding, bathing, and cleaning Maintain accurate records of pet care activities, medication schedules, laboratory tests, and treatment plans in compliance with veterinary terminology standards. Assist with laboratory procedures including sample collection, processing specimens, and understanding basic animal physiology for diagnostic purposes. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing client communications, and providing excellent customer service. Practice animal restraint techniques suitable for various species including dog and cats ensuring minimal stress during procedures. Contribute to maintaining a clean and sterile environment using proper aseptic techniques during surgeries or invasive procedures. Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is highly desirable. Experience in pet care roles demonstrating compassion and responsibility. Veterinary technician experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus. Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology relevant to clinical procedures such as catheterization or restraint techniques. Laboratory experience involving sample processing or diagnostic testing is advantageous. Hands-on experience with dog/cat handling enhances your ability to excel in this role. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining sterile environments during invasive procedures.
