This person will be a primary assistant or technician for our feline-ONLY appointments. In this role, you will support veterinarians and pet owners by delivering compassionate, skilled assistance across a variety of clinical and hospital settings. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure every animal receives the highest quality treatment, from routine check-ups to critical care situations. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your veterinary expertise while making a meaningful difference in animals' lives. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring proper animal restraint and handling at all times Prepare animals for surgery, including animal catheterization and aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and basic analysis to support diagnostic efforts Handle radiographic procedures (X-ray), ensuring safety protocols are followed for accurate imaging Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document treatment plans accurately Skills Restraint for calm animals. Clear expectations and explanations of treatment plans and costs Understand wellness plans and what they include Understand vaccines schedule-frequency of boosters, and reasons for giving each EzyVet-creating and editing SOAPS, creating tasks, navigating the appointment scheduler NT-cats and dogs. Draw up vaccines Basic biosecurity and Cleaning protocols History taking Record completion Fecal recommendations Parasite lifecycle and prevention FT lifecycle and prevention Common medical terminology Prescription basics and terminology Accurately fill prescriptions Order lab work in house Order lab work send out Run lab machines Ear cytology-set up Ear cytology read slides PCV/TS Assist with and monitor anesthesia Assist with dental procedures Assist with endoscopy Assist with laparoscopy Pay is based on experience, certifications and licensure.
