This role combines front-desk responsibilities with hands-on animal care, that values compassion, professionalism, and teamwork. You'll be the friendly face greeting clients while also assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and laboratory tasks to ensure our patients receive top-quality care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a top notch specialty veterinary medicine practice. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently Answer phone calls and respond to emails Collect and review all records from referring clinics for new patients Pulling and filing paper charts Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, diagnostic testing and administering chemotherapy treatments Ordering and preparing laboratory testing and managing medical records with accuracy Assist staff in cleaning exam rooms between appointments. Cleaning kennels Communicate clearly with pet owners about treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-visit care instructions Qualifications Prior animal handling experience required; strong dog and cat handling skills are essential Knowledge of restraint techniques and veterinary terminology Efficiency with basic computer programs, email and digital documents Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally, both in person and on the phone Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting animals and restraint of larger dogs Ability to demonstrate compassion and tenderness to both pet owners and their pets in a potentially emotional time Join us if you're passionate about higher level veterinary care, eager to expand your customer care knowledge and skill, and are ready to contribute to a caring team dedicated to exceptional pet cancer care.
