THIS JOB IS FULL-TIME WITH A 4 DAY WORK WEEK. WE ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. SCHEDULE IS TYPICALLY SET AND MAY REQUIRE SATURDAY SHIFTS DEPENDING ON STAFFING DEMANDS.
Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and confidently, including restraint, and proper animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, sample processing, and X-ray imaging to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, medical histories, and laboratory results with precision and attention to detail. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing basic dental cleanings under supervision. Contribute to hospital cleanliness by cleaning kennels, bio-hazard disposable, exam room tidiness, vacuuming. Explore product knowledge to have informed conversations with clients about medications, and nutraceuticals. Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, assisting with catheterization procedures, and providing compassionate animal care during recovery. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective support in clinical settings. Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as X-ray operation or sample processing is advantageous. Strong animal restraint skills combined with an understanding of aseptic techniques are crucial for maintaining safety standards. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities with enthusiasm. Certification or experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
