Part-time/Part-time 30 | Day & Evening Shifts | Saturdays RequiredThe Vet Assistant, Tech Assistant position at Fort Washington Veterinary Hospital is crucial for ensuring the highest level of care for our animal patients. This role involves supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in various tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the clinic. The primary end result of this position is to enhance the quality of care provided to animals while ensuring a smooth operational flow within the hospital. The successful candidate will play a key role in patient handling, assisting in medical procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Ultimately, this position is vital for fostering a compassionate and professional atmosphere for both pets and their owners.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience working with animals in a veterinary or similar setting.
Basic understanding of animal care and handling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a veterinary assistant or technician.Experience in a fast-paced veterinary clinic or animal hospital.
Knowledge of veterinary software and record-keeping.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and medical procedures.Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately during treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical and treatment areas.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinary team.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions and follow-up appointments.
Communicate effectively within a team to help facilitate a smooth workflow.
