Job Description
Overview Silver Maple Veterinary Clinic is a progressive, fast-paced, 5-doctor veterinary practice located in Kutztown, PA. We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our growing team. This role is essential to the daily care of our patients and the smooth operation of our hospital. A Veterinary Technician Assistant supports our doctors and technicians during appointments and procedures, provides compassionate care to hospitalized and boarded pets, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility. What You'll Do Provide compassionate, attentive care to pets Safely restrain pets for examinations and procedures Assist with radiographs (X-rays) Monitor hospitalized pets and report changes in condition Collect urine and fecal samples as needed Feed, exercise, and provide daily care for hospitalized/boarded pets Prepare pets for discharge and assist with dismissals Maintain clean cages, runs, exam rooms, treatment areas, isolation, reception, and common areas Perform laundry and sanitize pet dishes Sweep, mop, and maintain overall hospital cleanliness Restock hospital and reception supplies Perform laboratory tests using our in house laboratory machines. Assist with other duties as assigned Requirements & Physical Demands Genuine compassion for animals and their families Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to walk dogs up to 130 pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Nights and weekends required Animal care experience preferred but not required — we will train the right candidate If you are dependable, hardworking, and looking to be part of a supportive team that truly cares about quality patient care, we encourage you to apply.
