Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and demonstrate proficiency in handling a variety of species, including dogs and cats. In this role, you will support veterinarians and technicians by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of animals while developing valuable veterinary skills in a fast-paced clinical setting. Duties Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision, following proper aseptic techniques and veterinary protocols. Support animal husbandry activities including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the clinic environment. Handle laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and basic analysis to aid in diagnostics. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, medications administered, and laboratory results in compliance with clinic standards. Assist with front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, and managing patient check-in/check-out processes. Requirements Prior experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic or similar setting is not required, but helpful. We will gladly teach on the job, what's more important is a person with compassion and a willingness to learn. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members in a professional environment. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting animals and standing for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail.
