Job Description

Veterinary Assistant / Animal Care Team Member 1724 Langhorne Yardley Road, Yardley, PA 19067 $20
  • $22 an hour
  • Part-time, Full-time $20
  • $22 an hour
  • Part-time, Full-time We are a small integrative and holistic veterinary practice in Yardley, PA.
We are not a high-volume clinic. We know our clients by name. The work here is relationship-driven, not procedure-driven — and we are looking for someone who finds that meaningful. If you are looking for a busy ER or a practice where you will be drawing blood every hour, this is not the right fit — and that is okay. But if you are the kind of person who takes pride in getting the details right, keeping things running smoothly, and making clients feel genuinely cared for, keep reading.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a true float position. You will move between patient-side and client-facing work based on what the day needs. On any given day that might include: Rooming patients — weight, pulse, and respiration before the doctor enters Assisting during exams as directed Answering phones and helping triage calls alongside our receptionist Communicating with clients: scheduling, relaying results, answering basic questions Keeping exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready between appointments Supporting wherever the gap is — no task is beneath this role If you have prior clinical experience (blood draws, catheters, in-house diagnostics), that is a genuine bonus. But this role is not built around those skills, and we cannot offer a position focused on developing them. We need someone whose satisfaction comes from the whole job, not one piece of it.
OUR SCHEDULE
READ BEFORE APPLYING
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9AM-5PM, and every other Saturday 8AM-1PM. We are closed Wednesdays and Sundays. We do not have evening hours at this time. Full-time averages 32 hours per week — not 40. If you require a guaranteed 40-hour week, this role will not meet that need.
Part-time shifts are structured as:
Morning 9AM-1:30PM or Afternoon 1:30PM-close. We cannot accommodate shifts that span both halves of the day (e.g., 9AM-3PM). Saturdays rotate — approximately every other week. If your schedule requires evenings, a specific weekday off, or guaranteed 40 hours, please do not apply — this role will not work for you and we want to be respectful of your time.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Someone who notices what needs doing without being told Strong communication skills — warm, clear, and professional with clients and teammates Comfortable shifting between tasks quickly without losing focus Follows through consistently — not just when someone is watching Calm and confident with animals — handling experience required
Reliable:
our team is small and when someone is out, everyone feels it Prior experience in veterinary, animal care, or healthcare settings preferred — but not required for the right candidate A note on background: We hire primarily for personality and reliability, not credentials. If you have worked in animal shelters, grooming, boarding, hospitality, or any environment where you juggled multiple responsibilities while keeping people calm and cared for — your background is more relevant than you might think.
WHAT WE OFFER
$20
  • 22/hour depending on experience Part-time or full-time considered No overnight shifts, no on-call, no evening hours A calm, integrative practice environment — not a high-volume ER A close-knit team that genuinely cares about patients and each other Exposure to integrative and holistic veterinary medicine
HOW TO APPLY
Submit your resume along with a brief note answering these two questions (a few sentences each is fine): Why does an integrative or holistic veterinary practice specifically interest you? Describe a time you had to handle multiple things at once under pressure. What happened and how did you manage it? Applications without the note will not be reviewed. We are not looking for a formal cover letter — we are looking for a real answer that tells us something about how you think.
