be considered for the position. Valley Oak SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization. This job posting is for our Veterinary Clinic Department . We are seeking a part-time Kennel Technician with the opportunity to grow into a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role after approximately three months, based on performance and fit. Position Overview This is a hybrid role that combines kennel support with front desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, strong communication skills and eager to learn both the clinical and customer service sides of veterinary care. Requirements Veterinary clinic experience and knowledge of veterinary products preferred Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred Computer literate Available to work Saturdays Available to work until 8:30 PM occasionally Comfortable working with cats and dogsResponsibilities Kennel Assistant:
Clean and maintain kennels to ensure a safe and sanitary environment Perform laundry duties Prepare and organize surgical packs (pack room duties) Assist with closing procedures Support overall clinic cleanliness and workflow Front Desk /Customer Service:
Always operate with urgency and care, representing our organization with professionalism and compassion Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist clients with questions and needs Schedule appointments and manage a busy clinic calendar Collect payments for services and products Act as an advocate for animals and provide excellent client support Qualifications Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Strong written and verbal communication Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with a diverse client base Reliable and punctual Growth Opportunity This position is designed as a pathway into a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and customer service skills may be transitioned into a front desk-focused position after approximately three months.
