Duties Assist veterinarians with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both pets and staff Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic tests by administering medications, setting up equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health status to promote optimal animal welfare Conduct laboratory tests and assist with sample collection to support accurate diagnostics and treatment plans Manage front desk responsibilities including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering pet owner inquiries with professionalism Handle animal catheterization, medication administration, and basic veterinary procedures following established protocols Support pet care activities such as bathing, grooming, and behavioral management to enhance overall pet comfort Skills Extensive kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge ensures compassionate care for all patients Proven veterinary technician experience with familiarity in veterinary terminology and critical care procedures Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and horses; experience with equine care is a plus Ability to perform animal restraint confidently while maintaining safety standards during examinations or treatments Skilled in medication administration via multiple routes (oral, injectable) with attention to aseptic technique Laboratory experience supporting diagnostic testing processes within a veterinary setting Excellent communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions; clear understanding of veterinary clinic operations Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary procedures such as animal catheterization and laboratory sample collection Experience with pet care routines including feeding schedules, behavioral management, and general animal welfare practices Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact the health of animals while advancing your professional growth.
