Job Description

Southern Trail Animal Clinic in Easley, SC is looking for one veterinary assistant to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 210 Fern St Suite J. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The veterinary assistant is responsible for performing tasks, assisting co-workers in general duties and patient care. Patient care in regards to husbandry, nursing care, diagnostics, patient procedures, pharmacy, & patient restraint should be maintained. The veterinary assistant will have team communication skills, along with continuing any tasks to assist technicians, veterinarians, receptionist, and other staff.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED is required.
Basic employee professionalism:
time management, accountability & adaptability Computer & Software skills required: Microsoft Applications, E-mail, PIMS, and other software programs. 1-2 years of veterinary clinic/patient care experience required. Patient Care Basics Communication & listening skills Inquisitive, asks questions, seeks learning opportunities Maintaining a calm demeanor and the ability to handle conflicts and difficult situations. Possesses a team-oriented, positive attitude.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate excellent customer/client service at all times. Adheres to all safety protocols (OSHA) Address client concerns and complaints professionally. Maintain compassion, empathy, & understanding Patient restraint and basic patient care duties: walking, bathing, patient care logs. Assisting veterinarians and/or technicians in daily duties. Radiographs, diagnostic lab setup, maintaining clinic logs. Understand all clinic policies. Cleaning/janitorial actions for entire clinic, including employee bathroom & breakroom Kennels, walking yard, exam rooms, treatment, etc.
Restocking supplies and maintaining organization:
clean work environment.
Surgical Prep:
Surgery Instrument cleaning and packing. Perform any other duties necessary in relation to the success of the clinic.
Cross-training:
receptionist
