Veterinary Assistant

WesVet Animal Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join the team at our clinic located in the Nashville/Brentwood area of middle Tennessee. We are considering full-time employees only. Pay is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. WesVet utilizes the latest technology available to small animal clinics, including cloud-based practice management software, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, advanced surgical monitoring equipment, and electrocautery to make for a full service client experience from check-in to check-out. Experience with Ezyvet is desirable, but not required. The position will require assisting veterinarians and technicians in patient care and medical treatments including but not limited to: phlebotomy, placement of IV catheters, anesthetic induction/monitoring, client interaction (via phone and in person), medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples, processing in-house and reference lab samples, surgical preparation, and hospitalized patient care. We are looking for a flexible individual who is willing to go above and beyond to help grow the clinic and provide an extraordinary experience for clients and pets. Additional responsibilities will include clinic maintenance (e.g., cleaning of kennels, facilities and surgical equipment), lifting animals (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs), and administrative tasks as needed. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits following a 60 day probationary period.
