Job Description

Kennel Technician 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Robertson County Animal Clinic is seeking a hard-working, animal-loving individual for a full-time kennel assistant position. One year experience as a kennel technician is preferred but not required. Experience with animal care, and animal handling is required. We are a 6 doctor, privately owned and operated, small animal practice. Quality medicine with compassion for our clients and patients is the foundation of our practice. We have been serving our community since 1981. Our hospital offers preventative care, surgery, in-house and send-out laboratory services, cold laser therapy, dentistry, orthopedic and elective surgeries, digital x-ray, ultrasound, boarding, grooming, and many other services. Shifts can include any day M-F from 7:15 am-5:30 pm, and every other Saturday from 7:30 am-1:00 pm. Rotating cleaning shifts on Saturday pm, and Sunday am/pm are required. Full time hours are around 35-40 hrs per week. Candidates must be able to lift over 30lbs, and must be able to handle dogs and cats, including aggressive animals.
Responsibilities:
  • Walk, feed, and medicate animals
  • Bathing and brushing of cats and dogs
  • Ear cleaning
  • Nail Trims
  • Anal gland expression
  • Laundry
  • Clean cages and keep kennel, bathing, and grooming areas clean
  • Restrain animals with proper handling techniques
  • Assist groomers
  • Assist with answering phones
  • Assist doctors and other technicians when needed
  • Janitorial duties such as mopping, sweeping, taking out trash, etc.
Skills:
  • Experience as a kennel technician for a minimum of 1 year is preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions properly
  • Dependable
  • Punctual
  • Experience in administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, taking messages.
  • Experience with computers
