Overview:
South Texas Veterinary Urgent Care is seeking full time veterinary technicians & assistants for the first veterinary urgent care in local Corpus Christi, TX. Our urgent care is the first of its kind to provide veterinary urgent care to Corpus Christi, while supporting our local primary care veterinarians. We offer same day care and support to patients in need. Our hospital is fully equipped with Heska laboratories, digital radiology, ultrasound, surgery, and much more! Experience preferred, but willing to train. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring of patients
- Keep the facility clean and ensure a safe environment for animals
Experience:
The successful candidate should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Dog/ Cat handling
- Veterinary practices
- Laboratory procedures (Heska) & radiology (Sound)
- Animal care techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Aseptic techniques in medical settings
- Pet care best practices
