The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for our furry guests. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while assisting with daily operations. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Assist with animal catheterization and other veterinary procedures under supervision. Utilize aseptic techniques when handling animals and cleaning equipment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team. Maintain knowledge of veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with staff and clients. Support dog handling during veterinary visits. Assist with laboratory tasks as needed, including sample collection or processing. Requirements Previous experience in animal husbandry or kennel work is preferred but not required. Familiarity with pet care practices and animal behavior is essential. Knowledge of medication administration and basic veterinary procedures is a plus. Ability to handle dogs of various breeds and temperaments safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and pet owners effectively. Ability to work flexible hours.
