Job Description
PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE!
! Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care in a dynamic veterinary environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable kennels for a variety of animals, ensuring their well-being through attentive care and proper handling. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for both animals and clients, supporting our mission to promote health and happiness for every pet that walks through our doors. Duties Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and surrounding areas regularly to uphold hygiene standards and prevent the spread of disease Assist with animal intake and discharge procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth transitions Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dogs, cats, and other small animals Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly to veterinary technicians or veterinarians Support pet owners with basic pet care advice and answer questions about their animals' needs Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection or processing when necessary, maintaining accurate records Must be able to lift 60lbs Skills Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices is a plus. Will train the right person for the job Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and basic medical procedures Experience in animal restraint, medication administration, and aseptic technique Ability to handle a variety of animals confidently, including dog handling skills and animal behavior awareness Laboratory experience or veterinary assistant background is highly desirable Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow safety protocols diligently Join us in creating a caring environment where animals receive top-quality care!
