Veterinary Technician / Assistant Sandy Animal Clinic - 3.3 Sandy, UT Job Details $12 - $21 an hour 3 hours ago Full Job Description We at Sandy Animal Clinic are dedicated to providing high quality care to animals. We are looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. Our technician's play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to our patients. We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated and organized individual that can communicate effectively with a wide variety of clients.
Responsibilities:
Patient care including but not limited to laser therapy, bandaging, radiographs, administering medications and treatments, proper canine and feline restraint. Provide exceptional customer service to all clientele, as well as communicate accurate client education. Draw blood, place IV catheters, administer IV and SQ fluids as required. Process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, feces, fine needle aspirates, etc. Assist the veterinarian's in surgery, monitor anesthesia or scrub in as a sterile assistant. Monitor all post-op anesthetic recovery and sedation patients. Properly sanitize surgical and dental suites, clean surgical instruments, wrap surgical packs, and properly sterilize. Fill prescription medications, assist with stocking, and inventory as needed. Assisting DVM's in exam rooms, patient assessment's, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. Be a pro-active team-member and take initiative where help is needed. Assist in other areas of the hospital such as reception and kennels as necessary.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older Previous veterinary experience required Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred! Compassion for animals Able to lift up to 40 pounds Reliable, able to work full-time during hospital's hours of operation. Excellent communication and customer service skills Detail oriented, organized, focused, able to follow-through with tasks Salary will be based on experience. F/T and P/T positions available.
