Veterinary Assistant - Cascade Animal Clinic

Cascade Animal Clinic has been operating in Monroe for over forty years. We have a high client retention rate and strong presence in the community. We are open Monday through Friday with no on call or weekend hours. We are an appointment-based clinic and offer same day Prompt Care for pets' more urgent needs. With a robust and diverse caseload, our team routinely provides: Wellness care and vaccinations Internal medicine Soft tissue surgeries Dentistry procedures Urgent care Our full-time team members typically work 4-day workweeks, allowing for plenty of 3-day weekends. We also have a strong mentorship program for staff in all positions, and we are dedicated to continued learning.

What we expect from you:

Valid WA Veterinary Medication Clerk License in good standing or eligible to obtain within 3-6 months of hire (we will help you!). 1 or more years of clinical veterinary experience. While we do welcome newcomers to the field, our current opening is for someone with prior experience. Desire to continuously learn Genuine love of animals and the people who love them. Proficiency in core technical skills including animal handling, venipuncture, and administering medications. Knowledge of medical mathematics and terminology and apply them to your everyday work. Ability to recognize patient symptoms through own observations and patient histories and determine the urgency with which a patient must be treated. Strong organizational and time management skills The ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing needs within a hospital on a day-to-day basis. Exercise attention to detail in all aspects of work, with an understanding that the difference between performing a task correctly vs. incorrectly can be life-changing for patients. Approach mistakes as an opportunity to learn, whether they were your own or someone else's. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering trust and loyalty. A "can do" attitude and commitment to embrace challenges and to dedicate yourself to continuous learning and improvement. Utilize your expertise to assist veterinarians in examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. Perform technical skills such as placing IVCs, administering treatments, and running diagnostic tests with the utmost care and precision. Be a trusted resource for pet parents, providing guidance on preventative care, nutrition, and behavior to promote optimal health and quality of life. Champion our commitment to exceptional patient care by maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring hospital processes and protocols are followed. Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment by sharing your knowledge, skills, and passion for veterinary medicine. Communicate with all team members, staff, vendors, and visitors in a respectful, professional manner while promoting the doctors' recommendations, hospital vision and goals, and your team. Contribute to hospital efforts and initiatives surrounding patient and team safety. What you should expect from us: The wage this position is expected to be approximately $20.00
