Job Description

Tired of working nights & weekends? Want your life back? Come work with us and join our awesome team! We are seeking an experienced assistant for our day practice (hourly pay DOE). Closed weekends. We seek an experienced full-time (possibly part-time) veterinary assistant for our well-equipped, busy, paperless, general practice. We need another assistant on our team who's a friendly, caring, resilient, and organized professional. One who likes people as much as animals, and is proficient at patient restraint, cleaning, organizing, and taking care of people and pets. A successful candidate must be an excellent communicator with outstanding professional worth ethic and exemplary attendance record. She or he must be consistent, detail-oriented, efficient, and a friendly team player. A person who can take direction from doctors and co-workers, as well as work independently. One who communicates well (both verbal and written), maintains professionalism in times of stress, adjusts to change with a positive attitude, and has a good attendance record. One who uses integrity and good judgment in all situations, both seen and unseen. Computer skills preferred, but not required. Sense of humor important. Love of chocolate encouraged. Candidate must have the ability to physically handle and safely restrain large or aggressive pets (cats and dogs). Candidate must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand for long periods of time, and individually and frequently lift patients and inventory up to 50 pounds. Seeking candidates with at least 6-12 months of experience in the veterinary field. Light experience in monitoring anesthesia and drawing blood samples preferred. Veterinary assistant education a plus. We are a drug, alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco-free campus.
