About Us We are a full-service, multi-doctor equine veterinary practice dedicated to providing top-notch care for horses throughout South Puget Sound. Our team of veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and office staff work together to support equines from all disciplines, offering both ambulatory and clinical services, including 24/7 emergency care. Your Role As a veterinary assistant, no two days are exactly alike. You'll work side-by-side with our veterinarians, helping provide exceptional care to horses in the field and in our clinic. From assisting with diagnostics and procedures to preparing equipment and supporting clients, you'll play a vital role in keeping our practice running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, solving problems, learning new skills, and being part of a collaborative team dedicated to outstanding patient care. As a veterinary assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Providing exceptional support to the veterinary team Handling and restraining a variety of horses for examinations and procedures Jogging horses in-hand and longeing horses for lameness evaluations Preparing for and assisting with radiographs, diagnostics, and a variety of procedures, including elective surgeries Stocking and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of veterinary trucks Driving to appointments and assisting with ambulatory services Anticipating the veterinarian's needs by ensuring equipment, medications, and supplies are readily available Assisting with inventory management Cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities Interacting with clients in a professional, friendly manner What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate brings enthusiasm, adaptability, professionalism, and a genuine love for horses. We're seeking someone who has: Excellent horse handling skills and experience working with, owning, or competing a variety of horses Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude The ability to adapt to changing schedules and work effectively under pressure The physical ability to jog horses in-hand for extended periods, stand for long periods of time, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances The ability to follow verbal instructions accurately and efficiently A valid U.S. driver's license A high school diploma or equivalent Veterinary experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate with strong horse experience and a willingness to learn What We Offer We believe in taking care of our team just as well as we take care of our patients! Competitive Pay:
$18.90
  • 21.00/hour for Assistant Level 1 and $21.00
  • 23.
10/hour for Assistant Level 2, based on qualifications and experience
Bonus Program Paid Time Off:
Accrued paid vacation (rate increases with tenure) and accrued paid sick leave in accordance with Washington State law 401

Uniforms Provided Schedule & Work Hours This is a part-time position , working Tuesday through Thursday , approximately 9 hours per day.
