Veterinary Assistants for Inpatient Care of Post-Surgical Cats & Dogs Do you love caring for animals and working closely with a dedicated team who shares your passion for exceptional patient care & client service and values your knowledge and skill set? Midwest Veterinary Specialists is a state-of-the-art veterinary surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation hospital in Greenfield, Wisconsin. We provide exceptional surgical and non-surgical care for working/sporting and companion dogs from the consultation, diagnostic work-up, and therapeutic programs to achieve optimal outcomes and help dogs and cats to live their best lives. Meeting the needs of our clients and patients, while supporting our staff are top priorities. We are looking for full time experienced veterinary assistants to join our team and provide
WEEKDAY DAYTIME
nursing care to post-surgical and rehab patients. Duties will include keeping pets clean and comfortable, giving them a lot of TLC, walking dogs, physical rehabilitation therapy, administering medications, meticulous record keeping, communication with teammates & pet parents, admitting and releasing patients from the hospital and more! Team members should have a positive, enthusiastic attitude, a profound attention to detail, be able to work independently, and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, conscientious, and be able to multi-task. Previous experience in veterinary surgery and rehabilitation is preferred, but not required. Team members will be welcomed to a thoughtfully designed state-of-the-art 9000 sq ft surgical and rehab hospital that shares the building with an adjacent 6000 sq ft veterinary urgent care center. It is complete with all the toys and amenities you want and expect to ease workflow and maximize efficiency: digital high-definition radiography (with standing radiograph capability), GE VCT Lightspeed 64 CT scanner, GE
LOGIQ S8
ultrasound, IDEXX in-house labs, multiple large ORs, a full complement of surgical instrumentation, large treatment area and workstations, breakroom, large windows for easy line-of-sight, plenty of kennel and run space for patients, and plans for a future gait analysis system and MRI trailer. The large rehabilitation gym will include Aquapaws SS underwater treadmills, a Swimex jetted therapy pool, an Airpaws 200 land treadmill, a ceiling lift and track system for patient mobility assistance, plenty of room for land-based therapies, and generous dedicated rehab kennel and run space. Large expansive windows throughout the hospital create a cheerful environment. The hospital is equipped with cloud-based software programs such as EzyVet & Cubex and electronic medical records to increase workflow efficiency.
