Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Prepare examination rooms, surgical areas, and treatment stations with necessary instruments and supplies Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, sample collection, laboratory testing, and other clinical tasks Handle pet care duties including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications, and patient histories using veterinary terminology and documentation standards Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing patient check-in/check-out processes Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during procedures to prevent infection and maintain a sterile environment Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly desirable Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians is preferred Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, restraint techniques, and medication administration is essential Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques will set you apart Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines are necessary Ability to perform animal catheterization or assist with complex procedures is a plus Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who want to grow their expertise in veterinary medicine.
