Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role involves assisting with various veterinary procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring the comfort and safety of animals in our care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including animal catheterization and restraint. Provide basic nursing care, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology. Prepare animals for surgery and assist in post-operative care, utilizing aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleanings. Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection and analysis when needed. Ensure the cleanliness of kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas to promote a hygienic environment. Engage with pet owners to provide education on pet care, grooming, training, and overall health maintenance. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in animal care or veterinary settings.
Preferred qualifications include:
