Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. Your primary location would be at Empire Ranch Veterinary Hospital, but you may also be asked to help our second location - Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic! This will be a unique opportunity! The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal care practices, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals, while also providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments. Skills Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Experience in laboratory procedures related to animal health diagnostics. Strong dog handling skills, ensuring safety for both the animal and staff. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to promote optimal health. Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary. Familiarity with dog training techniques to assist in behavioral assessments. Passion for pet care and a commitment to providing high-quality animal care services. Competence in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling during examinations.
