Job Description

Job Overview Pet Allies Spay/Neuter Clinic is seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our spay/neuter team as we provide affordable spay/neuter for owned pets in our community as well as the shelter pets in our care. In this role, you will provide essential support to our veterinarian during spay/neuter surgery and recovery. Your expertise in surgical prep, monitoring and recovery will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of our surgical patients. Surgical experience is required. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in veterinary surgery and care and a passion for animal welfare. Responsibilities Assist veterinarian during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals. Handle animals with care during examinations and procedures. Fear Free experience a plus. Provide care for surgery patients, including monitoring vital signs and plane of anesthesia, administering fluids as directed. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and maintain a sterile environment Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, while maintaining accurate records. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the Veterinarian Educate pet owners on proper post-operative care. Maintain cleanliness of the clinic surgery suite, including kennels and examination rooms. Qualifications Previous experience as a Veterinary Surgery Technician required. CVT License in the state of Arizona a plus. Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and critical care is highly desirable. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics. Experience handling dogs and cats. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
