We are looking for a talented Registered Veterinary Technician with laboratory animal research experience. Candidates can look forward to helping set up and scale a focused research program in collaboration with a world-class team of scientists and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds. Role responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Attending Veterinarian, handle the day to day veterinary care for our animals across a range of species. Perform routine and specialized veterinary technical procedures including anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, sample collection, and medication administration Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (USDA, OLAW, AAALAC as applicable) Adhere to the institutional standard operating procedures (SOPs) for animal care and use Train and mentor junior staff on proper animal handling techniques and laboratory procedures Monitor animal health daily and report any concerns to the Attending Veterinarian Manage inventory of veterinary supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels Participate in facility inspections and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Key qualifications: Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification. At least 3 years of professional experience in the research laboratory animal medicine setting. Evidence of exceptional judgment and trustworthiness. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of laboratory animal regulations and guidelines Proficiency in animal handling techniques for multiple species Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Must be able to work a flex schedule to include one weekend day Preferred qualifications: Current Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) certification. Experience with modern surgical procedures for medical device development in both rodents and USDA covered species. Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards Experience with large animal models (swine, sheep, or non-human primates)Benefits:
