Sign on Bonus of up to $2,500 to qualified candidate. Weekend shift differential and overnight shift differential. Why PETS Referral Center? As we are a 24-hour emergency hospital please be willing to work outside of the boring 9am-5pm weekday schedule.
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing ER technicians and support staff on their assigned shifts. They are expected to lead, manage, and hold all staff that report to them accountable.
Responsibilities include:
assigning case load, assessing patient care, acting as a liaison, assessing and providing training, ensuring compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage flow of shift by properly assigning shifts based on technician skill and caseload. Ensure follow through by technicians on all cases and patient care. Facilitate customer service, technician and doctor communication to ensure accurate and efficient completion of cases. Oversee all aspects of medical care, including staff adherence to nursing protocols, anesthetic, surgical, safety, laboratory, radiology procedures, and infectious disease control. Assist in resolving client questions and concerns per PETS policy. Supervision of daily tasks to ensure fair work distributions and completion of daily duties including client service, patient care, and housekeeping. Oversee, lead, and mentor the emergency paraprofessional staff in a positive manner. Partner with ER floor manager/Hospital Manager to provide cohesive and collaborative leadership to their shifts. Take an active role in training and teaching team members on the floor. Assist in solving client problems/concerns. Setting the standard and modeling the standard for performance, professionalism, patient care and client service at all times while on shift. Assist the management team with team member evaluations, feedback, and counseling/coaching when needed. Regularly attend and actively participate in shift coordinator meetings. Actively seek out and participate in CE (continuing education) and learning opportunities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a leadership role. Minimum 1 year of surgical anesthesia experience. Strong people skills, including leadership, problem solving and communication. Must be able to physically work the duties of a veterinary technician at any given time.
