Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Part-Time Registered Vet Tech, where your expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional animal care and support. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, animal handling, and diagnostic testing, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Your passion for animals and attention to detail will help create a compassionate environment where pets receive the highest quality care. This position offers flexible hours for motivated individuals eager to make a positive impact in veterinary medicine. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and handling techniques. Perform laboratory tests, including sample collection, processing, and analysis to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as animal catheterization and wound management to prevent infection. Conduct dental cleanings and understand dental terminology to support oral health treatments. Operate X-ray equipment safely, interpret radiographs, and assist with imaging procedures involving animal physiology. Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and assisting with emergency protocols. Manage animal restraint using proper techniques for various species including dogs, cats, and equines. Maintain detailed medical records, laboratory logs, and treatment documentation accurately. Skills Proven kennel experience combined with animal handling skills across different species. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and veterinary critical care practices. Knowledge of dental terminology, pet grooming techniques, and aseptic surgical methods. Ability to perform animal catheterization and apply proper restraint techniques effectively. Familiarity with equine care practices is a plus; dog training experience is highly valued. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating pet owners about pet care needs.
