Veterinary Technician - Medical Oncology

Salary:

$ 34 - $ 39 / hour based on experience, knowledge, and skills

Schedule:

4 days, 10-hour days We are seeking dedicated Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Medical Oncology Department. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering top-tier veterinary care to our patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill and injured animals. Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding promptly to changes in condition. Proficiency in chemotherapy agents and their administration Proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery, Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols. Collaborating with other members of the veterinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Qualifications:

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is required. 1-3 years of experience working as an oncology technician is preferred but not required. Proficiency in performing nursing procedures, such as venipuncture, catheterization, chemo administration, and anesthesia monitoring. Experience with chemotherapy agents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to providing excellent patient care and client service. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
