Full-time with comprehensive benefits package, CE and licensing reimbursement. Why? We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Neurology department. Get your mix of patient and client care, imaging and procedures in our Neurology department with 2 board certified Neurologists, and onsite MRI and advanced CT imaging.
Technician Growth :
We care about setting our team up for long term success with our structured onboarding and Level Up program, led by Technician Trainers and Department Leads. This ensures that you are supported and get paid for the things you learn, increasing your skills and earning potential with each Level achieved. Support for pursuing your VTS is also provided with 3 VTS (with more up and coming!) already working across our ACCESS specialty teams. What you'll do:
Quality Patient Care:
Go beyond basic vitals; think critically to evaluate complex patient trends and proactively care for both medical and surgical neuro-patients. You will manage acute seizure watch patients, administer emergency anticonvulsant protocols, and provide attentive nursing care for non-ambulatory recumbent patients and those recovering from spinal surgeries.
Anesthesia & Analgesia:
Confidently calculate complex medical dosages, manage CRIs, and execute precise dilutions. Safely run and monitor advanced anesthesia for long-duration diagnostic procedures (like MRI scans) and delicate neurosurgical procedures (such as hemilaminectomies), with the clinical confidence to utilize surgical ventilators, and rapidly adjust protocols for patient decompensation.
Diagnostics & Imaging:
Assist with comprehensive neuro-diagnostic workups by prepping, safely transporting, and positioning patients for radiographs, MRI and CT. Confidently assist clinicians with specialized diagnostics such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) taps, electrodiagnostics, and the tracking and handling of biopsies.
Compassionate Service & Collaboration:
Serve as an empathetic, communicative bridge between our specialists, referring veterinarians, and dedicated pet owners navigating stressful diagnoses (such as sudden paralysis, spinal trauma, or seizures). You will obtain detailed medical histories, practice low-stress patient restraint, deliver clear client education on complex home-care protocols, and provide ultra-detailed patient rounds to ensure seamless, collaborative care during shift hand-offs and cross-department transfers. What we're looking for: Current Registered Veterinary Technician or on track to certification within next 12 months. VTS or interest in pursuing higher certifications is a plus. Strong to advanced knowledge and experience around patient nursing care, medical math and pharmacology. Driven, collaborative team player eager to work in a progressive environment. A shared commitment to our guiding principles of quality, integrity, compassion and exceptional service.
