Why? We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) to join our new Medical Oncology department! Be part of our new medical oncology team, launching this fall within its own dedicated suite with check in front desk, exam rooms, comfort room, x-ray, ultrasound and on-site CT. Start onboarding now with our elite IM and ECC teams! Then elevate your skills in advanced chemotherapy handling, calculation and administration, as well as compassionate support for dedicated pet parents.
Technician Growth :
We care about setting our team up for long term success with our structured onboarding and Level Up program, led by Technician Trainers and Department Leads. This ensures that you are supported and get paid for the things you learn, increasing your skills and earning potential with each Level achieved. Support for pursuing your VTS is also provided with 3 VTS (with more up and coming!) already working across our ACCESS specialty teams. What you'll do:
Quality Patient Care:
Go beyond basic vitals; think critically to evaluate subtle patient trends, understand laboratory parameters and proactively care for oncology patients. You will safely calculate, handle and administer chemotherapy protocols utilizing closed system transfer devices and strict personal protective equipment safety guidelines to protect yourself, your team, and your patients.
Anesthesia & Analgesia:
Confidently calculate complex medical dosages, manage multi-drug CRIs, and execute precise dilutions. Safely run and monitor anesthesia or sedation for diagnostic workups, biopsies, and imaging procedures, with the clinical confidence to alert doctors and adjust protocols immediately in the event of patient decompensation.
Diagnostics & Imaging:
Assist with comprehensive staging workups by prepping and positioning patients for advanced diagnostics within our dedicated suite, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, and on-site CT. Safely obtain diagnostic samples via low-stress blood collection, cystocentesis, and assist clinicians with fine-needle aspirates (FNAs) and biopsies.
Compassionate Service:
You will act as a foundational member of our new oncology team and serve as a dedicated advocate and primary point of contact for devoted pet parents navigating a cancer diagnosis. You will collaborate across departments and with referring veterinary teams. Along with delivering deeply empathetic, clear communication to pet owners regarding treatment schedules, side-effect management, and quality-of-life assessments offering steady guidance, education, and comfort through every step of their pet's journey. What we're looking for: Current Registered Veterinary Technician with experience handling and administering chemotherapeutic agents. VTS or interest in pursuing higher certifications is a plus. Strong to advanced knowledge and experience around patient nursing care, medical math and pharmacology.
Driven, collaborative team player eager to work in a progressive environment. A shared commitment to our guiding principles of quality, integrity, compassion and exceptional service.
