Your dedication will help create a positive experience for both animals and their owners while advancing your career in veterinary medicine. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Collect medical samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling. Perform animal restraint and handling for examinations, vaccinations, treatments, and procedures with confidence and care. Manage kennel areas by cleaning, feeding, monitoring animal behavior, and providing basic pet care to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. Administer medications and treatments prescribed by veterinarians while observing animals for adverse reactions or changes in condition. Support animal husbandry activities including grooming, feeding, and maintaining knowledge of animal anatomy for effective care. Handle specialized procedures such as animal catheterization and assist in veterinary critical care situations to stabilize patients. Maintain accurate records of medical procedures, laboratory results, and patient histories to ensure seamless communication within the team. Experience Previous 2 years veterinary technician experience or relevant animal care background is required. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory techniques, and aseptic procedures is essential. Experience with dog handling, pet grooming, pet care routines, and animal restraint techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary critical care practices will support your ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations. Kennel experience or working with large animals such as equines is a plus but not required; training will be provided if needed. Strong communication skills combined with a passion for animal welfare are key to thriving in this energetic environment.
