In this energetic and fast-paced environment, you will assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensure the highest standards of animal safety and comfort, and maintain a sterile and efficient operating room. Your dedication to animal health and well-being will contribute directly to successful surgical outcomes and positive client experiences. Responsibilities Prepare animals for surgery by performing animal restraint, sedation, and anesthesia monitoring using aseptic techniques Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures by passing instruments, managing surgical tools, and ensuring proper tissue handling Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict aseptic protocols and sterilizing equipment and surgical supplies Monitor anesthesia levels and vital signs throughout procedures, adjusting as needed to ensure patient safety Conduct post-operative care including wound management, pet grooming, and pet care instructions for owners Handle laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, preparing specimens, and processing tests related to veterinary critical care and laboratory experience Support animal husbandry practices including feeding, cleaning, and caring for animals in the clinic's kennels or holding areas Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, patient histories, and treatment plans using veterinary terminology and animal physiology knowledge Skills Proven kennel experience with animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care procedures Skilled in animal catheterization, restraint techniques, pet grooming, dog training, and pet care best practices Experience with X-ray imaging procedures and laboratory testing methods relevant to veterinary medicine Excellent dog handling abilities with knowledge of animal behavior and training techniques Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail in aseptic technique Familiarity with dental terminology related to pet dentistry procedures is a plus This role is ideal for passionate individuals eager to make a meaningful difference in animal health through technical expertise and compassionate care.
