Your Role as a Feline Clinical Technician As a valued member of our cat-exclusive Care Team, you'll:
At CatsOnly, you'll experience:
- Support veterinarians in delivering exceptional feline medical care during appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
- Champion the CatsOnly Care Journey , ensuring every patient interaction prioritizes emotional safety, gentle handling, and thoughtful communication with caregivers.
- Advocate for your feline patients by recognizing behavioral cues and providingsupporting low-stress, fear-free handling techniques.
- Provide compassionate education and communication to caregivers about treatments, procedures, and patient care.
- Collaborate closely with the care team to ensure smooth, efficient, and supportive patient care throughout the visit.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment that supports high-quality feline medicine. Key Responsibilities - Where Your Skills Shine Feline Clinical Credentialed Technicians provide skilled technical and nursing care including:
- Deliver exceptional hands-on care including anesthesia monitoring, sedation support, surgical assisting, dentistry, radiology, and in-house laboratory work (urinalysis, hematology, cytology preparation, etc.).
- Assist with patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Place IV catheters, administer medications, and assist with treatment plans as directed by veterinarians.
- Operate technical equipment used for anesthesia, imaging, dentistry, and laboratory diagnostics.
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records in our intuitive Digitail system.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with caregivers about procedures, treatments, and patient status.
- Embody low-stress, feline-focused handling techniques that prioritize patient comfort and safety.
- Stay current through continuing education, training, and certification opportunities fully supported by CatsOnly.
- Follow all hospital safety protocols while bringing your full heart to every interaction.
- Allowed to practice as a Credentialed Technician in accordance to Colorado Law. Qualifications Required
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT / CVT / LVT)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- 2+ years clinical experience in veterinary medicine (feline only experience is a plus)
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, patient handling, and diagnostics
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to feline-focused patient care and low-stress handling
- Experience in dentistry including proficiency in dental radiography Bonus (These Make You Stand Out Even More)
- Fear Free Certified Professional
- Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional certification
- VTS-Specialty Credential in Clinical Practice - Feline or Canine-Feline
