Job Description

Registered Veterinary Technician Job Description Pet Hospital of Thornton & Broadlands Veterinary Clinic are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who is excited to contribute to the continued growth and success of two hospitals. Join our locally owned hospitals as we provide care to pets and their families within the community. Dr. Emily Miller and her team are excited to welcome a new team member to be part of the hospitals' continued journey and growth. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering four shifts per week. While the schedule is expected to remain consistent, flexibility may occasionally be required to support the evolving needs of growing hospitals.
Role & Responsibilities:
Customer Service Facilitate communications (phone, text, email and in-person) and cultivate positive client experiences Interact with veterinary professionals and escalate complex communications when appropriate Facilitate and manage appointment and surgical schedules Maintain accurate and up-to-date records (including client communications) Technology Focus Fielding and managing multi-line phone systems Fielding and responding to electronic communications Utilize cloud-based software application (EzyVet) Patient Care Safe and reliable restraint Advanced mathematics Support appointment related activities as needed (i.e. obtaining histories, TPRs / weights, assisting with medical records) Perform standard appointment procedures (i.e. vaccinations, nail trims, ear cleanings, etc.) Complete hospital admissions (i.e. verifying consent forms, patient information, medications, and fasting status) Perform routine technical procedures including but not limited to venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and fluid therapy administration (including calculation of rates of flow) Induce, maintain and monitor patients under sedation and general anesthesia Perform therapeutic procedures and complete diagnostics (including laboratory and radiology imaging studies) Assist with surgical and dental procedures as directed Equipment Perform routine maintenance (as needed) to ensure equipment is in working order Clean and care for surgical instruments (including wrapping packs and managing the autoclave cycles) Assist with inventory management (as directed) Facilities Maintain a clean and inviting environment, adhering to OSHA requirements Comply with and complete requirements related to the administration and management of controlled substances, ensuring DEA compliance Training Participate in the development and training of other technicians and veterinary assistants (under the direction of the PM and Medical Director) Participate in annual compliance training programs, including radiation safety

Role:
6+ years of veterinary experience 4+ years of customer service experience Associate or bachelors degree preferred
VTS / LVT / RVT
certification (required, or can be reinstated within the first ninety days) A strong passion for helping others High emotional intelligence and effective communication skills, especially in receiving and responding to feedback Proficiency with conflict resolution Ability to communicate confidently and compassionately with veterinary professionals across different roles Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently Strong personal accountability, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to following through on responsibilities
Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
