We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant who values teamwork, accountability, professional growth, and high-quality patient care. Position Overview The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and technicians in delivering efficient, compassionate, fear-free care. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous learning. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures Obtain patient history and maintain accurate, paperless medical records (Avimark) Perform nursing duties including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, injections, diagnostics, and medication administration Calculate and administer medications as directed Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care, diagnostic results, and treatment plans Provide client education and reinforce preventive care recommendations Practice Fear Free, low-stress patient handling techniques Maintain accurate documentation and medical transcription Participate in staff meetings and continuing education Qualifications Fear Free Certification preferred or willingness to pursue Strong attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented Schedule Day shifts Rotating weekends Requirements Ability to commute to Longmont, CO 80504 (Required) Ability to relocate before starting work (Required) Family Pet Hospital seeks individuals who are committed to high standards of medicine, patient comfort, and contributing to a positive, supportive workplace culture.
