Job Description

Our hospital is a 4 doctor, full service, small animal exclusive practice looking to employ a veterinary technician. We take pride in excellent patient care and the importance of building positive client relationships in our small community. Applicant must have veterinary technician experience working in a hospital setting, have strong customer service skills, being able to handle stressful situations with professionalism and courtesy with clients and fellow employees. Credentialed/licensed technician a plus but not required. Willing to train the right individual. Hourly rate based on experince and skill level. Position is flexible full-time hours. Our hours of operation are 8 am - 5:30 pm weekdays and 8 am- 1 pm on Saturdays. Applicant will be required to work 1-2 Saturdays per month. Responsibilities Assisting Doctors in exams, patient restraint, medical record review Client education: basic pet care, vaccine protocol, preventatives, post surgical care, prescription medications
Surgery:
prep of patients, setup and clean up of surgery area and instruments, anesthesia monitoring, Blood draws and catheter placement Radiograph positioning and techniques Care of hospitalized patients Preparation and administration of medications both oral and injectable Use and care of laboratory equipment including CBC, chemistry and Urinalysis equipment Skills Strong communication skills and active listening. Ability to focus on the patient/client and adapt/respond to different patient/client needs Ability to prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively Technical skills a plus, but we can teach
