Lead Veterinarian Position Summary:
The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting veterinarians, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess skills in animal handling, clinical procedures, and inventory management, with a strong work ethic and a passion for animal health.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Support:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed. Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, feces, etc.). Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress. Provide compassionate handling and restraint of animals. IV catheter placement and endotracheal intubation.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites. Disinfect surfaces and instruments according to clinic protocols. Launder towels, scrubs, and bedding regularly. Ensure biohazard and waste materials are disposed of safely and in compliance with regulations.
Client Communication:
Educate clients on basic animal care, medications, and post-treatment instructions. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with client check-ins as needed.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred or equivalent experience. 1+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting (preferred). Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift 40+ lbs and handle animals of all sizes.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced clinical setting with exposure to animals, bodily fluids, and cleaning chemicals. May require evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on clinic hours.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
